Next up is Tuscany and Umbria, Italy

Wed Feb 25, 2009, 8:47 AM
Hi everybody,

Next trip will be to Tuscany and Umbria, 2 districts in Italy. Although this is just a minor close trip of 2 weeks, Tuscany is really one of my favourite places in the world: the landscape is awesome: sloping green hills covered with cypres trees, olive gardens, wine farms and medieval villages. And ofcourse, the best food in the world :) And did I mention the weather? it's perfect too.

I've been to Italy twice in 2008 but that was for snowboarding and another trip to the north (district of lakes and mountains) which is not really to be compared to Tuscany. Our last visit to Tuscany was back in 2002 I think, so it's time for a new visit!

i can't wait! :) it's really a pitoresque area. look at these pieces of art shot by our DA-friends:

Does anybody has tips for activities, sights or other places in Tuscany? I'm searching for some nice places to stay on the coutry side, like farms, wineries but also good restaurants and places to hike and take photographs.

cheers!
Jochem

Hi Jochem, Thank you for your comments. I saw your photos too, It's awesome. Sure, In South also, you can find lots of places with great art and architecture like Somnathpur, Belur and Halebid. I am just an amateur in photography as recently I fell in love with it

Let me know if you need any help in getting to places in south. I would be glad to help.
